Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Los Angeles follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

House of pies American Style Diner, you have to try the broasted chicken, clam chowder, and pecan pie. Absolutely amazing! The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, the clam chowder was rich and comforting, and the pecan pie was the perfect sweet ending. I’d give it a 10/10. It’s a little on the pricey side, but definitely worth it for the quality and flavor.

Charming, old school diner. Had brunch there. The presentation of the food didn’t look too appetising, but they tasted great. They do apple pie the old fashioned way - crusty, savoury. highly recommend. Small parking lot: will probably need to park at the streets.

Got the Fisherman's Fry. Came with choice of soup or salad. I got the soup...tomato with pasta shells. It was very good. The menu said you get your choice of 1 side. I was going to get the coleslaw. The waitress says "that comes with fries". Okay then. The food looked delicious and was a good portion. However, the taste was off because it had the bitter after taste of old oil. (Those who know, know what I mean). I got a slice of the strawberry cream pie to go. It was delicious.

We love the House of Pies. It is not just pies, but they are amazing by the slice or you can take one home. Some are seasonal, but we love the strawberry pie and anything with chocolate on it is great. They have a full menu and it is a must try. Everything is great. Their pancakes, and they have a selection are the best. We love their French toast and you can get it plain or with great toppings. Their breakfast burrito is so good and they have chicken strips that are great. They also make wonderful sandwiches, our favorite being their club sandwich. They have a pastry area and take some home. Parking is free and it is not usually too crowded except Saturday and Sunday morning. I don't know if they take reservations. The service is fast and very nice. They will help with the large menu. The place is cute as can be and always spotless. The prices are fair and you won't feel ripped off. WE also love the location. Have a great time.

Tried out @houseofpies today, started off with some really good house made chips, i got a philly cheese πŸ§€ wit fries, and @disneywife_life got a big house burger, she said it was excellent, and my sandwich was amazing. We followed it up by sharing a slice of lemon meringue pie, and Bavarian chocolate with banana cream pie, and i honestly don't know which was better, the Bavarian was light and fluffy with lots of banana, and the meringue was perfect, and lemon flavor on point, both crust were buttery 🧈 and flaky. Staff was friendly, our server was a little inattentive, but friendly, definitely worth stopping in and checking out.
